Introducing the new solid waste management fee for apartments and condominiums

Starting July 1, 2008, owners of apartments, condominium and co-op buildings will pay a fee based on how much garbage residents generate.

TORONTO BALCONIES BLOOM
A project to promote balcony gardening in Toronto

Attention All Gardening Enthusiasts - A balcony garden contest is being planned for this summer. The competition is considered, above all, to be a vehicle to stimulate interest and participation in balcony gardening. The aim is to encourage gardeners within individual buildings, apartment neighbourhoods or self-identified groups to organize themselves so that the contest can focus on communities, not only on individuals.

SMART & SMART SUB-METERING FOR CONDOMINIUMS
CCI-Toronto and the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario (ACMO) are pleased to advise that after nearly 1/1/2 years of hard work by their Joint Committee, led by John Oakes and Bob Gardiner, the draft regulations were changed and the final regulations (O. Reg. 442/07 and 443/07) make the installation of smart meters and smart sub-meters in condominium corporations voluntary and not mandatory.
