An absolute 'must attend' seminar for all concerned Presidents
and Directors.
In addition, experienced condominium Presidents of all
types of condominium corporations will benefit from the opportunity to hear
essential, practical and meaningful information.
It's Here!
This third in a series of unique seminars continues to
review the role and enhance the performance of a Board President or
Director.
To serve on a condominium Board as President or a Director
takes a special kind of person. A unique blend of leadership skills, community
values and the ability to get along with all types of people is essential
in order to gain the respect of the community.
Ideally a condominium Board of Directors would be made
up of a lawyer, an accountant, an engineer, an insurance specialist and,
of course, a mediator! However, in reality a board is made up of ordinary
volunteers trying their best to serve their community and deal with the
huge range of issues that affect the lives, homes and investments of their
neighbours.
To make the task easier, the Canadian Condominium Institute
is presenting the third in a series of popular President seminars. The first
two sessions entitled "The Good, The Bad and...(The Ugly?)" and
"The Good, The Better and ....(The Worst?)" focused largely on
the role of Directors and the skills they required. This third session will
explore more specific issues - as requested by participants of the second
session. A panel discussion will also be included during which problems
facing your corporation will be examined, from the perspective of
the Manager, the President, and the Lawyer.

warning signs and how to be more prepared!
Condo lawyer Denise Lash will provide participants

BALLOTS AND PROXIES. She'll also discuss the topic of REMOVAL OF

petition.
Experienced Property Manager Janice Pynn will

of Leadership Roles: Task Roles and Maintenance Roles. Both are necessary
to build and maintain the group. Learn to identify the roles and learn how
they will help you become a better member of the group. How to avoid the
Anti-Group Roles will also be illustrated.
Panel Discussion
The second half of the session will be devoted to a panel
discussion. Participants will have the opportunity to present to the panel,
general problems faced by their corporation or Boards and see how the experts
would respond. In order to provide some structure to this session, we ask
that you submit your question(s) to the panel upon registration. An informal
question and answer period will also be provided as time permits.
